Dr. Shweta Kantha, his elder daughter, is a renowned Gynecologist and Obstetrician known for her expertise in women’s healthcare and high-risk pregnancies. His younger daughter, Dr. Meha Kantha, is a skilled Vitreoretinal Surgeon specializing in advanced retina and eye care. His youngest son, an accomplished Oncosurgeon, continues to follow in his father’s footsteps with dedication and surgical excellence.

Legacy of Excellence — Dr. K. K. Kantha
Dr. K. K. Kantha was born on 13th August 1952 in Chapra, Bihar. He completed his MBBS from Darbhanga Medical College and went on to earn his FRCS in General Surgery from the United Kingdom, where he trained and practiced for nearly a decade. In 1991, he returned to India and established his nursing home on Boring Road, Patna, which quickly became a trusted center for advanced surgical care.
Widely regarded as one of the pioneers of laparoscopic surgery in Bihar, Dr. Kantha played a transformative role in introducing minimally invasive surgical techniques across the state. He conducted numerous workshops and training programs, mentoring fellow surgeons throughout Bihar. Over a surgical career spanning more than 30 years, he touched thousands of lives through exceptional expertise, compassionate care, and an unwavering commitment to ethical practice — admired as much for his humility and kindness as for his clinical skill.
Dr. Kantha dedicated his life to serving society with integrity and unmatched ethics, holding several prestigious positions in surgical and urological associations across Bihar. His untimely passing due to COVID-19 on 22nd May 2021 left an irreplaceable void in the state's medical fraternity and in the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy continues to inspire generations of doctors and remains deeply rooted in the gratitude of those he served.
